Journeyman’s Log #7

Journeyman’s Log #7

Traction Isn’t Noise. It’s Resistance.

Today wasn’t about products.

It wasn’t about growth hacks, algorithms, or chasing numbers.

It was about realizing something simple that took me a long time to accept:

Traction doesn’t come from applause.

It comes from resistance.

I’ve spent a lot of time adapting.

Adapting to people.

Adapting to situations.

Adapting to silence.

The problem is, you can’t adapt well when there’s nothing pushing back. You end up adjusting in the dark, guessing, changing direction without knowing what you’re responding to.

Likes don’t tell you much.

Followers don’t either.

Engagement does.

Good or bad.

Agreement or disagreement.

At least then you know you’re touching something real.

I see videos every day talking about “300 view jail” or “500 view jail.”

The promise is always the same: escape faster, grow bigger, beat the system.

But today it hit me.

Maybe small reach isn’t a prison.

Maybe it’s insulation.

If something is worth building, it shouldn’t need to be rushed into the open.

It should be tested.

Pressed.

Questioned.

I don’t want a million followers who scroll past me.

I want a few who stop, even if it’s to disagree.

That’s traction.

I also realized something else.

I don’t really want to be a content creator.

But I do understand visibility.

Old businesses ran commercials on TV not because they wanted to be entertainers, but because that’s where people were looking. This is no different.

So if I have to speak to be seen, I’ll speak.

But I won’t perform.

No hype.

No trends.

No borrowed personality.

Just clear thoughts, said plainly.

TuffEnuffCntry isn’t for everyone.

And that’s not a weakness.

I believe everything and everyone has a purpose.

I believe quality should be honest and reachable.

I believe work matters, family matters, seasons matter.

I believe in slowing down enough to enjoy the life you’re building.

That’s it.

If that connects with you, you’ll know.

If it doesn’t, that’s okay too.

I’ve spent most of my life being misunderstood.

I’m used to it.

I’m not here to be understood by everyone.

I’m here to be clear.

And from here on out, I’m not chasing noise.

I’m looking for resistance.

That’s how you know something real is taking shape.

Journeyman’s Log #11 – Fighting the Wire There’s a difference between welding… and fighting the wire. For a long time, I didn’t know the difference. I had a cheap 110 flux core welder and whatever .03
