Journeyman’s Log #14 – Coop Build
Spent the weekend working on the chicken coop.
Got the interior walls finished—already made a difference. Metal alone wasn’t cutting it. You could feel the heat before, now it’s more controlled.
Added ventilation:
Lower vent for fresh air coming in
Upper window to let heat and moisture out
Fans pulling air through
Goal is simple—no smell, dry bedding, healthy birds.
Got a solar setup running the fans most of the day. If it’ll run fans, it’ll run the auto door no problem.
Still got a few things to finish:
Roost bars going back in once they get settled
Window getting a flip-down cover to keep rain out
Fine tuning airflow as I go
Chicks are still getting used to the new space. Came out of a tub into this, so giving them time to adjust.
Nothing fancy. Just building it to work and last.
Stand Tough. Live Country.
